{"id":12274,"date":"2010-09-20T19:50:24","date_gmt":"2010-09-20T23:50:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.prefblog.com\/?p=12274"},"modified":"2010-09-20T19:50:24","modified_gmt":"2010-09-20T23:50:24","slug":"dbrs-discontinues-elf-rating","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/prefblog.com\/?p=12274","title":{"rendered":"DBRS Discontinues ELF Rating"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DBRS <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dbrs.com\/research\/235405\/e-l-financial-corporation-limited\/dbrs-discontinues-e-l-financial-s-preferred-share-rating.html\">has announced<\/a> that it:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>has today announced that it will discontinue its public rating on the First Preference Shares, Series 1 of E-L Financial Corporation Limited (E-L) on October 20, 2010 (30 days from today).<\/p>\n<p>DBRS notes that this action is unrelated to E-L\u2019s credit profile.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>ELF has two issues of preferreds outstanding, both PerpetualDiscounts: ELF.PR.F &#038; ELF.PR.G. The issues have been rated Pfd-2(low) by DBRS for a long time, contrasted with S&#038;P&#8217;s ratings of P-2(high)\/BBB+.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t see any other news &#8211; and remember, ELF is probably the largest public company in Canada, if not North America, that doesn&#8217;t have a website &#8211; so it&#8217;s hard to guess what this might mean.
