{"id":2023,"date":"2008-04-06T11:28:12","date_gmt":"2008-04-06T15:28:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.prefblog.com\/?p=2023"},"modified":"2008-04-06T11:28:12","modified_gmt":"2008-04-06T15:28:12","slug":"mapf-preferred-share-fund-2007-financials-posted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/prefblog.com\/?p=2023","title":{"rendered":"MAPF : Preferred Share Fund 2007 Financials Posted"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The audited financial statements for my pooled fund, Malachite Aggressive Preferred Fund, for 2007, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.himivest.com\/malachite\/financials\/MAPFAudit071231.pdf\">have been posted<\/a>, together with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.himivest.com\/malachite\/financials\/MAPFTransactions071231.pdf\">full statement of transactions in 2007<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.himivest.com\/malachite\/perfMon.php\">monthly<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.himivest.com\/malachite\/perfQuar.php\">quarterly<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.himivest.com\/malachite\/perfYearQ1.php\">annual<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.himivest.com\/malachite\/perfAnnQ1.php\">annualized<\/a> performances to the end of the first quarter, 2008, have also been published. A commentary on the performance for March 2008 is in preparation.<\/p>\n<p>While the year to March 31 was disappointing in terms of absolute return, I was very pleased to see that the fund handily outperformed its benchmark during a vicious downturn &#8211; the causes of this downturn have been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prefblog.com\/?p=1721\">previously discussed<\/a>. Large market moves are, in general, good for the fund&#8217;s relative performance because individual issues will become out of alignment with their peers, which allows trading opportunities.
