{"id":24186,"date":"2014-01-13T12:19:37","date_gmt":"2014-01-13T17:19:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/prefblog.com\/?p=24186"},"modified":"2014-01-13T12:19:37","modified_gmt":"2014-01-13T17:19:37","slug":"prefletter-bedevilled-by-server-problems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/prefblog.com\/?p=24186","title":{"rendered":"PrefLetter Bedevilled by Server Problems"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As many of you will know, the various websites I operate, including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prefletter.com\">PrefLetter.com<\/a>, are all hosted on a dedicated server rented by Hymas Investment Management.<\/p>\n<p>When the old server, running Linux, got old and slow &#8211; and, indeed, was perilously close to failure &#8211; in November, a new server was rented and the functionality transferred.<\/p>\n<p>There have been problems with this, most notably with PrefLetter Download links sent en masse. For some reason the script used to send the eMails to subscribers has crashed prior to completion in both December and January.<\/p>\n<p>Subscribers who have not received links to the January edition are urged to use the &#8220;Subscriber Download&#8221; feature at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prefletter.com\">PrefLetter.com<\/a> to obtain their download links; if all else fails, please <a href=\"mailto:jiHymas@himivest.com\">eMail me<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I apologize for the inconvenience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As many of you will know, the various websites I operate, including PrefLetter.com, are all hosted on a dedicated server rented by Hymas Investment Management.
