PrefLetter.com Down For Migration

The PrefLetter website is being migrated to the new server and key functionality has been disabled.

I hope to have it running again soon.

Update, 2013-12-9: This may take a bit longer than I thought, since I’m having trouble with SMTP. Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, hah! I’d hate to see the complicated one.

Update, 2013-12-10: Now I’m installing a new security certificate. Oh, what fun!

Update, 2013-12-12: Still having problems! The security certificate isn’t working properly and I’m having problems with the php directive open_basedir.

… and, it would seem, if you have a different eMail the WordPress software does not recognize you and sends your comment to the moderation queue until approved …

One of the problems with using Bell email is that they expect you to use web based email as opposed to an email client stored on your computer.

Bell supports Microsoft’s Outlook.com Webmail system, so if an email is considered “junk”, then it is placed in the junk folder of Outlook.com in the cloud, and so if you happen to use a Windows email client such as Windows Live Mail (because you prefer to store your emails on your own computer), you will not get the emails that Outlook sent to “junk”.

So, anyone that tries to register for a WordPress account, and uses standard client based email on their computer, they will never get a response from WordPress and decide that PrefBlog is snubbing its nose at them.

    Just sayin’.

Thanks for pointing this out; I have a lot of very similar problems with the automatic eMails from PrefLetter.

I have added some verbiage to the right-hand navigation panel (way, way, way, WAY down at the bottom) that will address this issue.
